The reasons weren't bad. The method was just really, really stupid. There was a woman that could help his daughter remember him- she recently just arrived here. But she didn't believe in magic which is a real thing where he's from.

So he thought kidnapping her and convincing her that a young girl who doesn't know him and has no memory of him should remember him as her father would actually work. The woman is a mother herself, by the way. [She rests her chin on her hand.]

And I looked for help for him. Real help, from people with magic. He wouldn't listen to me at all and dismissed me outright.
