IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Mal stands 6'2", with a sturdy, muscular body and a cowboy's swagger. He has a predilection toward tight pants and suspenders, generally wears boots, and as a veteran of the Independents' side frequently wears a brown leather coat. His manner of speech is somewhat quaint (you'll find him using "ain't," "gonna," "fellas," "powerful," etc.), and as a space traveler he tends not to bathe with alarming frequency, resulting in a rather strong personal scent.
•DEMEANOR: It is good to be the captain, and Mal is used to it. He's a leader, generally stubborn when it comes to resistance, and has a cocky daredevil streak. He's not impolite, but give him snark and he'll respond in kind; he is fair however, and can overlook previous altercations and conflicts for the bigger picture. Just don't expect him to completely give up his pettiness.
•ABILITIES: Nothing superhuman. He's a good fighter be it hand-to-hand or armed (with guns), and is proficient at swearing in Mandarin.
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: He's likely got shrapnel from old bullet wounds at varying places on his body and his ear was cut off and reattached via surgery.
•OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Harm of innocents; injustice as a whole; prostitution or exploitation of women.
